12 Mil Security Film Performance Requirements And Standard
UV Blocking Rate
The UV blocking rate of general automotive films is only about 40%, while high-quality thermal insulation films such as the 12 mil security window film for bank can reach 99% because of their deep UV absorbers.
Visible Light Reflectivity
The ratio of visible light (380-780nm) reflected by the glass surface to the total visible light incident on the glass surface is the visible light reflectivity. 12 mil security film can reflect some heat while reflecting visible light and maintain privacy in the car. However, excessive visible light reflectivity will cause light pollution and affect the driving vision of surrounding vehicles. Therefore, the law stipulates that the visible light reflectivity of thermal insulation films shall not exceed 10%.
Visible Light Transmittance
The percentage of visible light (380-780nm) that passes through the filmed glass to the total visible light incident on the filmed glass surface is the visible light transmittance. Too low transmittance will hinder the driver's vision (especially the windshield film). National traffic security regulations require that the visible light transmittance of the windshield film of the car should be above 70%, otherwise it will seriously affect driving safety.
12 Mil Security Window Film Installation
Installing 12 mil security window film requires some preparation and skills. First, clean the glass surface to ensure that it is dust-free and oil-free. Prepare the necessary tools, such as spray bottles, scrapers, paper cutters and rulers. Next, measure and cut the custom decorative film and cut the film according to the size of the window. Spray the aqueous solution on the adhesive surface of the glass and the film, and then stick the film on the glass, gradually unfolding from top to bottom. Use a scraper to scrape away bubbles from the center to the periphery to ensure that the film is fully fitted without bubbles and wrinkles. Finally, let the film dry and cure naturally, which usually takes 24-48 hours.
Precautions after Installing 12 Mil Security Film
Do not move the glass within 3 days after the 12 mil security film is installed.
Do not use water to scrub the filmed glass within 15 days after the window film is installed.
Do not use suction cups to hang or use adhesives to fix anything on the filmed glass, and do not stick self-adhesive decorations on the 12 mil security film.
Spray the surface of the window film lightly and evenly with a non-ammonia-containing cleaning agent, then gently wipe the glass with a clean, soft cotton cloth or soft paper towel. The cotton cloth and paper towel should be wrung out frequently. The pure external alcohol contained in the cotton cloth/paper towel will quickly dissolve large stains and greasy fingerprints. If the stain is not cleaned, re-spray the cleaning solution, use a soft rubber scraper to scrape the window film horizontally from top to bottom until it is dry, and then wipe the edge of the glass film with a towel. When using adhesive tape, sticky notes or decals on the window film, to remove the glue or adhesive left by these materials, you can use a soft clean cotton cloth dipped in acetone (nail polish remover) to gently scrub the contaminated area, which can quickly and completely remove the adhesive remaining on the glass film. A small amount of acetone will not damage the polyester film, but it can immediately dissolve and completely evaporate the adhesive and most spray paints.
Do not use hard scrubbers, brushes, or cloths containing sand to clean the glass film.
